Frequently Asked Questions
Yes, if you have any interest in mixing sound, or even if you are a Pastor or Worship leader, you will all benefit from this event. As someone who has interest in mixing, or mixes outside of church, there will be a lot of great new information and techniques to be taken in. As a Worship Leader or Pastor, there will be principles, leadership ideas and concepts you might want to integrate into your church.
We will provide outlines for note taking, but you likely want to bring a folder of your own, writing utensils, etc. You are welcome to bring your Radio Shack sound level meter as well, as there will be a nice discussion on those, and an interesting demonstration of their fault.
There will be a lunch break on Saturday where you can run to one of the many area eateries. There will also be complimentary coffee and donuts from 7am-8am Saturday morning in the lobby.
We will be posting and sending out local lodging information covering a wide budget range in the coming weeks. This is Orange County, but we have a few affordable clean hotels starting at $85 per night (on up to $1500 per night, if you are so inclined :))
Great question. The ChurchMix.com video courses do in fact cover much of what will be covered at this event in terms of content. But at this event, we will actually be taking a Worship band through the paces of a soundcheck while using all of the principles given in the ChurchMix.com video lessons. This will allow you to hear in a live environment how these principles actually work in a real-world environment.
In addition, there are the workshops covering topics not yet brought to the ChurchMix site.
This will be a totally unique mix training event, fusing entertainment, discussion, networking, and education into a great 2-day experience.
We would have to say that all mixers consider themselves experts :) Seriously, Paul is presenting some fresh, unique concepts that have been developed and integrated into many churches over the last few years. These are somewhat outside of the traditional mixer's radar.
Friday night will consist of our opening main session, but we will be videotaping and offering that session (and all other sessions) online to those who attended.
There would not be a discount for only coming Saturday, but there are two main sessions Saturday, and the breakout workshops. Along with the video you can see online, you should be in good shape!
Sorry, we have no events like this planned in the Phoenix area at this time, but the interest has been so strong that we are considering other areas like Phoenix, Portland and more.
Yes, we are planning to assembling all of these sessions into a viewable format. We urge you to create a free churchmix.com account, as we will announce when they are ready to all members.
